The Case Of Yankton’s Missing Trees

Have you noticed some trees missing around Yankton lately?

A crew recently cut down one of the large trees in the municipal parking lot behind the Press & Dakotan, so we’ve definitely noticed its absence. It’s not the only city tree that will be dismembered by this spring.

The Street Department has begun the process of removing 39 street trees identified as dead, diseased, or hazardous.

In addition, Klein Tree Service has been contracted to remove the 39 stumps by May 1.

And with that … case closed.
