‘We Come From The Same Place’

Nothing bad can happen.
Today I turn my life into myth.
I blacken the page and write with light.
I press my tongue to the sun and translate.
We are conceived in darkness and made to miss the abyss.
We are the dust and debris from an exhaling shadow.
Wondering about and wandering toward the light.
We must.
We must.
We hope.
We must.
We must.
The light will let us see the path from which we come.
The light will write the narrative we haven’t gleaned.
We hope.
We must.
We must.
Let’s walk together.
Let our hands intertwine and make us the string that traces our way.
We come from the same place.
So let’s not discover it alone.
